Warm-up(greetings)1. Talk about my family and my hobby.
I have a happy family. Then ask the Ss:
1) Do you collect anything?
2) What’s your hobby/ collection?
2. Get the students discuss what they collect .

Listening and vocabulary
1. Listen and complete the chart.
Ask the Ss to look at the chart so that they understand what to listen for.
2.Play the recording through once while they just listen. Ask the Ss to complete the chart. Check their answers.

Answer the questions
1. Read through the words in the box with whole class, have them repeat them chorally.
2. Play the tape again. Ask the Ss to answer the questions individually.

3Which hobby do you think takes up the least space?
Listen to the tape carefully.
Try to answer the questions.

 Listen and read
1. Play the tape and answer two questions:
a) What does Sally’s brother collect?
b) What made Lingling interested in?
Check their answers.
2. Listen to the tape again. Finish the table in Activity 4.

2. Then get another pair to elicit their conversations.

2.   Then another pair elicit their conversations.

Divide the Ss into 6 groups. Discuss what hobbies they have. Choose a reporter to write down their conclusions and report to the class.
