Teaching Steps

Step1 Warming-up and listening

1. Listen and number the pictures in Activity 1 .

2. Match the sentences with the pictures in Activity 2.

Step 2 Listening and reading

1. (Close the books) Listen to the tape carefully.

2. Ask and answer

1) What has Betty made?

2) What has Lingling made?

3) How does the cheese smell?

4) How does the chocolate cookies taste?

5) Who is going to the airport? And why?

3. Ask the students to read through the conversation individually.

4. Play the tape and have them read and follow.

5. Act it out.

6. Learn Everyday English

Step 3 Exercise

1. Answer the questions about the words in the box in Activity 4.              

2. Complete the sentences in activity 5.

3. Complete the table with the words in the boxes in Activities 2 and 4.

Step 4 Explain the important and difficult points

Grammar: The using of look, feel, taste, smell and sound.

Step 5 Pronunciation and speaking

1. Listen and repeat.

2. Work in pairs. Ask and answer about the things. Say why you like or don’t like  

 them.

Step 6 Exercise

Finish the exercise in the workbook Wb. Ex. 1, 2 &3
